FINDLAY, Patricia M. -- Patricia M. FINDLAY, 75, of Rockland, Wis., died from cancer Tuesday, Feb. 17, 2009, at Franciscan Skemp Medical Center in La Crosse, Wis.

A service will be at 3 p.m. Saturday at Hylandale Seventh Day Adventist Church in rural Rockland, with the Rev. Larry Mahlum officiating. Burial will be in Hamilton Cemetery in West Salem.

Visitation will be from 2-3 p.m. Saturday at the church.

Jandt Funeral Home in Bangor, Wis., is in charge of arrangements.

Mrs. FINDLAY was born June 24, 1933, the daughter of John and Stella HAIFER HAIFLEY in Fairfield. She married Earl L. FINDLAY April 18, 1954, in Fairfield. He died Dec. 17, 1988.

Mrs. FINDLAY grew up in Fairfield and graduated from Oak Park Academy in Nevada, Iowa.

Mrs. FINDLAY was a longtime member of Hylandale Seventh Day Adventist Church in rural Rockland.

Survivors include four children, Earl L. FINDLAY Jr. of Sparta, Wis., Cindy FRENCH and husband Ralph of Colona, Ill., Tammy PETERS and husband Andy of Rhinelander, Wis., and Teresa OPITZ and husband John of La Crosse; eight grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; two sisters, Jean DODDS of Lincoln, Neb., and Charlotte PRUSSIA of Fairfield; and two brothers, John HAIFLEY and Bob HAIFLEY, both of Fairfield.

In addition to her husband, she was preceded in death by her parents; two grandsons; and one daughter-in-law, Cathy FINDLAY.

Patricia M. Findlay

ROCKLAND — Patricia M. Findlay, 75, of Rockland passed away Tuesday, Feb. 17, 2009, at Franciscan Skemp Medical Center in La Crosse after a short battle with cancer.

She was born June 24, 1933, to John and Stella (Haifer) Haifley in Fairfield, Iowa, where she was raised. Patricia was a graduate of Oak Park Academy in Nevada, Iowa. On April 18, 1954, she married Earl L. Findlay in Fairfield, Iowa, and together they had four children. On Dec. 17, 1988, Earl preceded Patricia in death. Patricia was a longtime member of Hylandale Seventh Day Adventist Church, rural Rockland. She was loved much and gave a lot of love in return and she will be missed greatly.

Survivors include four children, Earl L. Findlay Jr. of Sparta, Cindy (Ralph) French of Colona, Ill., Tammy (Andy) Peters of Rhinelander, Wis., and Teresa (John) Opitz of La Crosse; eight grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; two sisters, Jean (John) Dodds of Lincoln, Neb., and Charlotte Prussia of Fairfield, Iowa; two brothers, John (Ruth) Haifley and Bob (Arlene) Haifley, both of Fairfield, numerous nieces and nephews; and many dear friends in the Rockland area.

In addition to her husband, Patricia was preceded in death by her parents; two grandsons, Andy Peters Jr. and Benjamin Achterkirch; and a daughter-in-law, Candy Findlay.

Funeral services will be at 3 p.m. Saturday, Feb. 21, at Hylandale Seventh Day Adventist Church, N3200 Hwy. J, rural Rockland. Pastor Larry Mahlum will officiate. Burial will be in Hamilton Cemetery, West Salem. Friends may call at the church on Saturday from 2 p.m. until time of services.

Jandt Funeral Home of Bangor is in charge of arrangements.
