BAUM, Willis Leland -- Willis Leland BAUM, 82, of Farmington, died at 2:31 a.m. today, Tuesday,. Feb. 10, 2009, at University of Iowa Hospitals and Clinics in Iowa City.

Arrangements are pending at Pedrick Funeral Home in Keosauqua.

BAUM, Willis Leland -- Willis Leland BAUM, 82, of Farmington, died at 2:31 a.m. Tuesday, Feb. 10, 2009, at University of Iowa Hospitals and Clinics in Iowa City.

A graveside service will be at 11 a.m. Friday at Greenglade Cemetery in Farmington, with the Rev. Larry Wallingford officiating.

Open visitation will begin at 3 p.m. Thursday at Pedrick Funeral Home in Keosauqua, with a public Masonic service at 7 p.m., followed by family visitation until 8 p.m.

A memorial will be designated at a later date by the family. Memorials may be left at the funeral home or mailed to the family at 1349 230th St., Farmington 52626.

Mr. BAUM was born July 22, 1926, in Antioch, Mo., the son of Willis E. and Margaret WILSON BAUM. He married Charlotte I. MUNFORD Aug. 4, 1944, in Kahoka, Mo. She died April 2, 1998.

Mr. BAUM graduated from Kahoka High School and lived most of his adult life in Farmington. He had been a tool and die maker and machinist at True Temper in Fort Madison and the Iowa Army Ammunition Plant in Middletown. He had also been a union laborer at Fruin-Colnon Co. in Fort Madison and had worked at Sheller-Globe in Keokuk.

Mr. BAUM served on the Farmington City Council for several years. He was a 50-year member and past master of the former Mount Moriah Masonic Lodge No. 27 in Farmington. He was most recently a member of Ancient Free and Accepted Masons Keosauqua Lodge No. 10.

Survivors include one son, Gerald BAUM of Farmington; one daughter, Karen FAULKNER and husband LaVerne of Farmington; three grandsons; two brothers, Melvin BAUM and Frank BAUM of Keokuk; and one sister, Willa Dean PRICE of Corpus Christi, Texas.

In addition to his wife, he was preceded in death by his parents; one sister, Annice GIBBS; and one infant son, Leland Edward BAUM.
