Ezra E. FRITTS, 90, of Fairfield, died Sunday, Jan. 18, 2009, at Jefferson County Hospital.

Arrangements are pending at Behner Funeral Home in Fairfield.

Ezra E. FRITTS

Ezra E. FRITTS, 90, of Fairfield, died Sunday, Jan. 18, 2009, at Jefferson County Hospital in Fairfield.

A funeral will be at 1:30 p.m. Friday at First United Methodist Church in Fairfield, with the Rev. Dave Peterson officiating. Burial will be in Evergreen Cemetery.

Visitation will be from 6-8 p.m. Thursday at Behner Funeral Home.

Memorials may be made to First United Methodist Church, to Jefferson County Hospital in Fairfield or to a charity of the donor's choice. Cards and memorials may be sent to PO Box 211, Birmingham 52535.

Mrs. FRITTS was born Aug. 19, 1918, in McCool, Miss., the daughter of Henry D. and Lorena NORRIS HUNT. She married John Edward FRITTS Sr. July 6, 1944, at his parents' home. He died Sept. 23, 1998.

Mrs. FRITTS lived most of her life in the Fairfield area. She worked as a bookkeeper in the Fritts Auto Parts store. She also was a registered nurse at Jefferson County Hospital and Parkview Care Center in Fairfield.

Mrs. FRITTS was a member of Veterans of Foreign Wars and Jefferson County Hospital Auxiliary. She was a member of First United Methodist Church and Order of the Eastern Star. She was a 50-year member of Ladies Guild.

Survivors include one son, John E. FRITTS, Jr. and wife Susan of Fairfield; two daughters, Kay DAVIS and husband Hugh of Ulupakakua, Hawaii, and Ramona STITES and husband Richard of Cottonwood, Ariz.; two stepdaughters, Sandra Jo YARNELL of Birmingham and Barbara McCLELLAN of Sycamore, Ill.; 10 grandchildren; 19 great-grandchildren; nine great-great-grandchildren; one sister, Mavis STEPHENSON of Flushing, Mich.; and two brothers, Douglas HUNT of Houston, Texas, and Wayne HUNT of Brandon, Miss.

In addition to her husband, she was preceded in death by her parents; one grandson; two brothers, Bernard and Marlin HUNT; and one sister, Hazel HUNT.
