PACKWOOD. Earl J. SALTERBERG, 72, Packwood, R.1, died suddenly Fri. Heart attack; DOA at Jefferson Co. Hospital. Past president of Jefferson County Farm Bureau and an active member of Jefferson County Republican Central Committee. Raymond Funeral Home. Burial in Packwood Cemetery. Born Aug. 9, 1898 (?), in Washington County, son of William and Ella SAID SALTERBERG. He moved from Washington County to the Packwood area 32 years ago. Married, Jan. 10, 1932, Mary I. STOUT; she died Feb. 28, 1945. He was married July 31, 1953, to Isabelle AUWAERTER, who survives. Also surviving are children: Mrs. Donald BRAY, Iowa City; Mrs. Robert DICKINSON, Newton; Roger SALTERBERG, Phoenix, Ariz.; Janine, Sheryl, William, Linda and Susan, all at home; 11 grandchildren; a brother, William, of Washington, and a sister, Mrs. E. C. SCHNEIDER, Washington. Member Packwood U.M. Church. Was a trustee of Polk Township and served for several years on the Packwood School Board.
