Funeral services for Rufus H. MEYERS (sic - MYERS), 73, who died Saturday at the Jefferson county hospital, will be held at 2 p.m. Wednesday at the Packwood Christian church with burial in the Packwood cemetery. Rev. Ludwig, Packwood and Rev. Williamson of Fairfield are in charge of services.
Mr. MEYERS, president of the Packwood Savings Bank, passed away at 1:30 p.m. Saturday afternoon at the hospital where he had been for the past three weeks. He had been in failing health for the past six months. He had spent his entire life in the Packwood community and was a well-known farmer and prominent stock raiser and feeder.
Surviving are his wife, the former Stella THOMAS, whom he married Sept. 20, 1939, two daughters, Mrs. Inez WILSON, Stuart and Mrs. Clarence CLARK of Fairfield; two sons, Harlan and Dale, both of Packwood and eight grandchildren. His first wife, Mrs. Nellie SMITH, died in 1935 and an infant daughter, Bernice, also preceded him in death.
The body will remain at the Hoskins funeral home until time for the services in Packwood.
