Benjamin Trev LUTES, 86, died early this morning at Jefferson County Hospital. Born June 30, 1868, near New London, Henry County, Iowa, son of the late A.T. and Susie VAN DYKE LUTES. Reared and educated in Henry County; married in York, Nebr., Feb. 27, 1895, Edith SIBERTS (? SANDERS?). She died Oct. 30, 1950. Moved to Packwood in 1914 where he made his home until four years ago when he came to Fairfield to make his home with his son and wife, Mr. and Mrs. Hoyt LUTES, 306 W. Jefferson St. While a resident of Packwood he was employed by the Hayes Elevator Co. and the Farmers Savings Bank for a number of years. Methodist Church. Mason. Burial in Packwood Cemetery. Survived by three children: Frank LUTES, Shelbyville, Ind.; Pauline LUTES, Cincinnati, and Hoyt LUTES, Fairfield; two grandchildren and one greatgrandchild. Preceded in death by his wife, parents and several brothers and sisters.
