LISK, Helen Pauline -- Helen Pauline LISK, 94, died Wednesday, Dec. 10, 2008, at Jefferson County Hospital in Fairfield.

A funeral will be at 10 a.m. Saturday at First Christian Church in Fairfield, with the Rev. Suzanne Swahn officiating. Interment will be at Packwood Cemetery.

Visitation will be from 6-8 p.m. Friday at Raymond Funeral Home in Fairfield.

LISK, Helen Pauline -- Helen Pauline LISK, 94, entered her heavenly home on Dec. 10, 2008. She was the youngest child born to Mae (SMITH) and John Calvin HEALD. Helen was born a farm S.E. of Packwood and lived most of her life in Fairfield. She was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother and beautician. She owned and operated Helen's Beauty Shop for several years.

Helen married Glenn LISK on Nov. 28, 1934. They owned and operated Dairy Queen stores in Fairfield and Waverly, IA. They spent many winters in Mission, TX, and traveled with the Airstream ILLIAMO group. Helen was an active member of the First Christian Church, Fairfield and CWF, a Charter member of the Jefferson County Hospital Auxiliary and a Charter member of the First National Bank Heritage Club. She enjoyed traveling with the Heritage Club and playing cards with friends at Sunnybrook, where she resided for the last 6 years of her earthly life.

She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, Glenn, brother, Goldburn, sisters, Gladys PARKS and Bernice ZAMORA.

Survivors include her 3 children, Glenda Kay SMITH (Dale) of Naperville, IL, Marlene BABCOCK, Ankeny, IA, and Gene LISK (Melanie), Fairfield, IA.; 9 grandchildren, Holly SMITH THOMPSON (Scott), Sand Springs, Ok, Rodney SMITH (Lana) Jefferson City, MO, Mason BABCOCK (Susan), Garner, IA, Amy BABCOCK FOWLKES (John) Mt. View, CA, Troy BABCOCK (Melanie) Ankeny, IA, Jenny BABCOCK, Osceola, IA.; Shawn LISK (Summer), Fairfield, IA, Tiffany LISK WHITE (Craig), London, England, Shane LISK (Barb), Fairfield, IA.; and 18 great-grandchildren.

Visitation will be at Raymond Funeral Home Friday Dec. 12 from 6-8 p.m. A celebration of Helen's life will be at First Christian Church, Fairfield on Saturday Dec. 13 at 10:00 a.m. Burial will follow at Packwood Cemetery.

Memorials may be made to First Christian Church, Fairfield or Hospice of Central Iowa.
