PACKWOOD. Death of Samuel DYSERT July 4. Born in County Derry, Ireland in 1845, and when a small boy, his parents came to Quincy, Ill., and in the '60s to Iowa and purchased a farm near here, where they spent the remainder of their lives. Deceased grew to manhood there and was married there, coming with his family to Packwood in Jan., 1898. His wife who was Miss Charity CHURCH, to whom he was married Dec. 23, 1875, and five children are left to mourn. One daughter passed away in young womanhood. Remaining are Mrs. Laura WOOLUMS, Ottumwa; Alexander DYSERT, Galesburg, Ill.; Richard DYSERT, Richland; Mrs. Virgil JOHNSON, Woolson, and Iredell DYSERT of Packwood; nine grandchildren and two greatgrandchildren. Member IOOF. Had for several years been janitor at the school building and was greatly loved by all the pupils... A man of genial disposition, strong convictions, honest and generous, frugal and industrious.... Relatives from a distance present at the funeral were a daughter, Mrs. Laura WOOLUMS and son, Ottumwa; two sons, Alexander of Galesburg, Ill., and Richard of Richland; two sisters, Mrs. Rachel STUCK of Enterprise, Kan., and Mrs. Hannah ANDERSON of Geneseo, Ill., and a nephew, George SPENCER of Webster City, Iowa.
