HENDRICHSEN, Herman H. -- Herman H. HENDRICHSEN, 104, of Keosauqua, died at 4:25 a.m. Saturday, Nov, 29, 2008, at Van Buren Good Samaritan Center in Keosauqua.

A service will be at 10 a.m. Wednesday at Bonaparte United Church, with the Rev. Paul Rekward and the Rev. Mark Caston officiating. Burial will be in Bonaparte Cemetery.

Open visitation will begin at 2 p.m. Tuesday at Pedrick Funeral Home in Keosauqua, where the family will be present from 6-7:30 p.m.

Memorials to Bonaparte United Church or Bonaparte EMTs may be left at the funeral home or church or may be mailed to the family at 22449 Route W-40, Bonaparte 52620.

Mr. HENDRICHSEN was born Aug. 26, 1904, in Wilton, the son of Lawrence and Matilda FREDRICKSEN HENDRICHSEN. He married Nova L. DECKER Feb. 15, 1930, in Washington, Iowa. She died Oct. 24, 1988.

As a child, Mr. HENDRICHSEN moved to Columbus Junction, where he grew up. He and his wife moved to their farm near Bonaparte in 1936. He entered the Good Samaritan Center in 2005.

Mr. HENDRICHSEN attended Bonaparte United Church. He had been a member of Farm Bureau and Bonaparte Odd Fellows Lodge.

Survivors include two daughters, Joanna HORSTMAN and husband Harold and Jean SAUNDERS and husband Herb of Bonaparte; three sons, Herman Jr. and wife Lu of Fairifeld, Duane and wife Sandra and Larry and wife Marcia of Burlington; 14 grandchildren; 16 great-grandchildren; and one great-great-granddaughter.

In addition to his wife, he was preceded in death by his parents; one infant son, Jerry Dean HENDRICHSEN; two brothers, William and Pete HENDRICHSEN; two sisters, Minnie DIRCKS and Annie LUKENBACH; and two grandchildren.
