CARR, Carol -- Carol Ann CARR, 61, of Douds died at 6:10 a.m. Thursday, Nov. 27, 2008, at Hospice House in Ottumwa.

The funeral is set for 11 a.m. Monday at Christ United Methodist Church in Douds, with the Rev. Ann Donat officiating. Burial will be in Leando Cemetery in Douds.

Visitation will open at 2 p.m. Sunday at Pedrick Funeral Home in Douds, with family present from 3-4 p.m. and 6-8 p.m.

Contributions to a memorial to be decided later by the family may be left at the funeral home or church or mailed to the family at 14013 Highway 98, Douds, 52551.

Mrs. CARR was born Nov. 20, 1947, in Ottumwa, the daughter of Robert and Naomi STEINMAN WILLIAMS. She married Carl L. CARR Nov. 20, 1966, at Ottumwa Baptist Temple.

She graduated from Ottumwa High School in 1966. She and her husband lived on the CARR family farm south of Douds until moving to town in 1985.

She worked at Molly's Restaurant while in high school. She worked at Farmers & Traders Savings Bank in Douds as a teller and assistant cashier for 30 years. She also had been a hostess at Pedrick Funeral Home in Douds and was a volunteer caregiver to several senior citizens in Douds.

Mrs. CARR was a member of Christ United Methodist Church in Douds.

She was a long-time treasurer of John Hyson Reneker Unit 494 of the American Legion Auxiliary, the Douds Historical Preservation Association and the Leando Cemtery Association. She represented Douds on the Van Buren County Iowa Sesquicentennial Committee in 1996, was a member of the Golden Girls bowling team and was secretary of the women's bowling league at Van Buren Bowl in Keosauqua.

Survivors include her husband; one daughter, Kristina QUINN and husband Steven of Washington, Iowa; one son, Robert CARR and wife Tara of Des Moines; three grandchildren' one great-grandson; and one sister, Wanda LYNCH-DAVIS of Rio Linda, Calif.

She was preceded in death by her parents; one grandson; and one brother, Joseph WILLIAMS.
