CAMERON, Streetar McGriff -- Streetar McGriff CAMERON, 51, died Saturday, November 22, 2008, from complications of colon cancer at Hospice Kavanagh House, 56th Street in Des Moines.
He is survived by his wife of 25 years, Christine and their daughters, Emily (Marc) MATUSKA of North Liberty and Elizabeth, his parents, Gary and Nan BURCHETTE CAMERON of Fairfield, his sister, Druet (Tom) KLUGH of North Liberty. He was preceded in death by his sister, Josephine Steckel CAMERON BURDASH of Burnsville, MN.
Born January 29, 1957 in Bloomfield, Iowa, Cameron attended Fairfield High School and the University of Iowa, where he majored in history and was a member of the SAE Fraternity.
He graduated from Drake Law School in 1983 and started a 20 year career with the Des Moines law firm of O'Malley Lillis Hansen Olsen LLP, of which he was a partner.
A lifelong lover of golf and a talented player, he was a member of the Urbandale Golf and Country Club. Cameron was also a member of the Iowa Bar Association, an enthusiastic supporter of Urbandale Show Choir and the Iowa Hawkeyes and was a St. Louis Cardinals baseball fan.
A memorial service will be held at noon on Tuesday, November 25, 2008 at Iles Funeral Home, Westover Chapel, visitation will be one hour prior to the service.
