MUNTZ, William 'Bill' -- William "Bill" MUNTZ, 92, of Farmington, died at 8:22 p.m. Thursday, Sept. 25, 2008, at Jefferson County Hospital in Fairfield.

Arrangements are pending at Schmitz-Lynk Funeral Home & Crematory in Farmington.

MUNTZ, William J. -- William J. MUNTZ, 92, of Farmington, died at 8:22 p.m. Thursday, Sept. 25, 2008, at Jefferson County Hospital in Fairfield.

A funeral was held this morning at Schmitz-Lynk Funeral Home & Crematory in Farmington, with the Rev. Larry Wallingford officiating. Burial will be in Thompson Cemetery near Bonaparte.

Memorials may be made to the Farmington EMTs or First Baptist Church.

Mr. MUNTZ was born Aug. 25, 1916, in Farmington, the son of Robert and Hazel LERCHE MUNTZ. He married Florence COMPTON May 17, 1941, in Fairfield.

Mr. MUNTZ was a retired farmer. He was a DeKalb seed corn dealer for 34 years.

He served on the Van Buren Soil and Water Commission. He was a 4-H leader, rural school board director, president of Thompson Cemetery Board and one of the original planners of the Indian Creek Watershed. He attended First Baptist Church in Farmington.

Survivors include his wife; one daughter, Diane WHITNEY of Fairfield; one son, Dean MUNTZ and wife Sandy of Findlay, Ohio; two grandsons; six stepgrandchildren; two great-granddaughters; nine stepgreat-grandchildren; one brother, Merle MUNTZ of Bonaparte; and one sister, Doris WALLJASPER of St. Louis Park, Minn.

He was preceded in death by his parents; two brothers, Robert Densmore MUNTZ, and Stanley MUNTZ; and one sister, Jessie.
