HANEN, Irma M. -- Irma M. HANEN, 70, of Fairfield, died today, Wednesday, Sept. 24, 2008, at Henry County Health Center in Mount Pleasant.

HANEN, Irma M. -- Irma M. HANEN, 70, of Fairfield, died Wednesday, Sept. 24, 2008, at Henry County Health Center in Mount Pleasant.

A funeral will be at 10 a.m. Saturday at Behner Funeral Home in Fairfield, with the Rev. Dave Elmore officiating. Interment will be in Mount Zion Lutheran Cemetery in Douds.

Visitation with the family will be from 6-8 p.m. Friday at the funeral home in Fairfield.

Cards and memorials to the Irma HANEN family may be sent to 1998 Redwood Ave., Fairfield 52556.

Mrs. HANEN was born Sept. 10, 1938, in Iowa City, the daughter of Harold and Marguarite ROSE WRIGHT. She married Emmett HAYNES, who preceded her in death in March of 1989. She later married Oren "Big" HANEN, who preceded her in death March 22, 2000.

Mrs. HANEN was a homemaker and also was employed at the Iowa Army Ammunition Plant in Middletown.

She enjoyed spending time with her family, fishing, riding horses, camping and crocheting blankets.

Survivors include five children, Linda WOODBURN and husband Bill of Fairfield, Janet SELL of Des Moines and Billy HANEN, Bobby HANEN and Ronnie HANEN, all of Fairfield; seven grandchildren; two stepgrandchildren; and 12 great-grandchildren.

In addition to her husbands, she was preceded in death by her parents; one son, Michael HANEN; one brother, Junior WRIGHT; and one sister, Darnelle CHEW.
