REINIER, Vernon L., Sr. -- Vernon L. REINIER, Sr., 72, of Conewago Twp., passed away unexpectantly Monday, September 8, 2008, at his residence. He was the husband of Wilma P. (ALDINGER) REINIER with whom he celebrated their 27th wedding anniversary on November 28, 2007.

Mr. REINIER was born in Ollie, Iowa on August 29, 1936, to Lorene (SHERIDAN) REINIER of Ollie, Iowa and the late Edwin REINIER.

Vernon was a truck driver for the Yellow Freight Co. for 10 years and retired in 2002 from Westside Transport. After retirement he worked for Adesa, formerly Pade Auto Auction.

He was a member of Dover Bethany United Methodist Church and the Central PA Teamsters. He proudly served his country in the U.S. Army.

In addition to his wife and mother, he is survived by a step mother, Virginia (BAUMGARTNER) REINIER of Fairfield, Iowa, three sons, Vernon "Skeet" and Randy REINIER, both of Fairfield, Iowa; Robin REINIER of Ollie, Iowa, a daughter, Melodie WHITEHURST of Ollie, Iowa; two step sons, Barry STOVER, Jr. and Terry STOVER, both of York, 12 grandchildren, five step grandchildren, 11 great grandchildren, a brother, Norman "Nile" REINIER of Dover, PA, two sisters, Yvonne WONDERLICH of Ollie, Iowa; Darlene SCHILLERSTROM of Batavia, Iowa and a God son, Kevin STERNER of Dallastown, PA.

There is a viewing scheduled from 6 to 8 p.m. Thursday, at the LeRoy R. Leber Funeral Home, Inc., 2290 School St., York (Shiloh). In addition a viewing from 10 to 11 a.m. Friday, at Dover Bethany United Methodist Church, 4510 Bull Rd., Dover. Vernon's funeral service will immediately follow at 11 a.m. with Pastor Michael Koppola officiating. Burial will be private at the convenience of the family with full military rites by the York County Veterans Honor Guard.

At the family's request, memorial contributions may be made to the LeRoy R. Leber Funeral Home, Inc., 2290 School St., York, PA 17408.

A memorial service will be at 10 a.m. Saturday at Ollie Baptist church in Ollie.
