DOROTHY, Edna M. -- Edna M. DOROTHY, 94, formerly of rural Stockport, died at 9:20 p.m. Thursday, Aug. 28, 2008, at her daughter's home in Chariton.

A funeral will be at 10:30 a.m. Tuesday at Pedrick Funeral Home in Keosauqua, with the Rev. Dale Dorothy officiating. Burial will be in Zion Lutheran Cemetery east of Douds.

Open visitation will begin at 3 p.m. Monday at the funeral home, where the family will be present from 7-8 p.m.

Memorials to Circle of Friends Hospice in Chariton may be left at the funeral home or may be mailed to the family at 510 S. Main St., Chariton 50049.

Mrs. DOROTHY was born March 29, 1914, near Douds, the daughter of Elmer and Lura WILEY PARROTT. She married Raymond DOROTHY April 26, 1933, in Mount Pleasant. He died April 24, 1999.

Mrs. DOROTHY and her husband farmed near Stockport and produced homemade sorghum and maple syrup.

She had been a member of Hickory Grove Church near Stockport and more recently Chariton Christian Union Church.

She did custom quilting and was honored as Stockport's Country Quilter.

Survivors include three sons, Vern DOROTHY and wife Carolyn of Mount Pleasant, Dale DOROTHY and wife Glenna of Marion, Ind., and Gale DOROTHY and wife Judy of Stockport; four daughters, Mildred INTALLS of Birmingham, Esther ALEXANDER of Chariton, Barbara COX of North English and Mary DODD and husband Ted of Bartlesville, Okla.; several grandchildren and great-grandchildren; and one brother, Arthur PARROTT of Whitmore, Mich.

In addition to her husband, she was preceded in death by her parents; three sons, Virgil, Jimmy and Warren PARROTT in infancy; one sister, Esther PARROTT in childhood; and two brothers, Clyde and Harold PARROTT.
