McCRACKEN, Lloyd W. -- Lloyd W. McCRACKEN, 85, of Richland, died at 1:20 P.M. Monday, July 21, 2008, at Maplewood Manor Nursing home in Keota.

A funeral will be at 11 a.m. Thursday at Trinity Friends Church in Richland, with the Rev. Tim Hadley officiating, assisted by the Revs. Carla Nelson and Duane Sherman.

Open visitation will begin at 4 p.m. Wednesday at Gould Funeral Home in Richland, with the family present from 6:30-8 p.m.

Memorials to Trinity Friends Church or Hospice of Keokuk County may be left at the funeral home or the church or may be mailed to the family at 201 Fifth St. North, Ollie 52576.

Mr. McCRACKEN was born Aug. 22, 1922, in Richland, the son of Rufus and Mabel LYON McCRACKEN. He married Pearl KERSHAW Oct. 26, 1953, in Stronghurst, Ill. She died Dec. 23, 1997.

Mr. McCRACKEN grew up in Richland and attended both Boston and Clay country schools. He graduated from Richland High School in 1940. Mr. McCRACKEN lived nearly all his life in Richland and farmed until retiring in 2001. He had resided at Maplewood Manor Nursing Home in Keota for about two years.

Mr. McCRACKEN served for a short time in the U.S. Army during World War II.

He was a lifetime member of Trinity Friends Church.

Survivors include one brother, Roy McCRACKEN of Ollie.

In addition to his wife, his parents preceded him in death.
