JOHNSON, Jordan Lee -- Jordan Lee JOHNSON, 16, of Eldon, collapsed at baseball practice and died Monday, July 7, 2008, at Ottumwa Regional Health Center in Ottumwa.

A service will be at 11 a.m. Thursday at Cardinal High School, with John Minor officiating. Burial will be in Eldon Cemetery.

Visitation began at 11 a.m. today at Reece Funeral Home in Ottumwa, where the family will be present from 4-8 p.m.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Cardinal Athletic Department or to the family.

Mr. JOHNSON was born Sept. 23, 1991, in Ottumwa, the son of Toby JOHNSON and Alena BAKER.

He was entering his junior year at Cardinal High School where he participated in baseball, basketball, football and track. He loved kids of all ages and spending time with his family and friends. He also enjoyed working in the shop of the family business, fishing, hunting, racing and going to demolition derbies. He loved the river and was a full-fledged "river rat".

Survivors include his father and stepmother, Toby JOHNSON and Mandy THRASHER of Eldon; his mother and stepfather, Alena and Darrell ROBERTS of Floris; three sisters, Jessica PRICE of Sigourney, MacKenzie ROBERTS of Agency and Maddy McCLURE of Floris; grandparents, Tom and Cindy JOHNSON of Eldon, Pete and Nancy SANER of Agency and Rick BAKER of Ottumwa; great-grandparents, Phyllis ALLMAN of Eldon, Myrna RULLMAN of Agency, Louise McWHIRTER of Batavia, John and Lela BAKER of Ottumwa and Colleen DAVIS of Marengo Valley, Calif.; and great-great-grandmother, Nora SANER of Ottumwa.

He was preceded in death by his great-grandparents, Bud and Blanche JOHNSON, Don ALLMAN, Jerry RULLMAN and Pete SANER Sr.
