GILBERT, Evelyn R. -- Evelyn R. GILBERT, 91, of Keosauqua, died at 5:40 a.m. today, Thursday, June 19, 2008, at Van Buren County Hospital in Keosauqua.

Arrangements are pending at Pedrick Funeral Home in Keosauqua.

GILBERT, Evelyn R. -- Evelyn R. GILBERT, 91, of Keosauqua, died at 5:40 a.m. Thursday, June 19, 2008, at Van Buren County Hospital in Keosauqua.

A funeral will be at 10:30 a.m. Monday at Pedrick Funeral Home in Keosauqua, with the Rev. Jerry Caughron officiating. Burial will be in Kilbourne Cemetery.

Open visitation will begin at 3 p.m. Sunday at the funeral home, where family will be present from 4-6 p.m.

Memorials to Kilbourne Cemetery may be left at the funeral home or mailed to the family 26916 Route J-16, Stockport 52651.

Mrs. GILBERT was born Oct. 29, 1916, near Kilbourne, the daughter of Nelson and Ruth STEELE RAMSEY. She married Gordon T. GILBERT June 27, 1935, in Fairfield. He died Aug. 16, 1996.

Mrs. GILBERT worked with her husband on their farm near Kilbourne. She also had been a cook at Van Buren Good Samaritan Center in Keosauqua. She had lived at County Lane Apartments in Keosauqua since 1997.

Survivors include two sons, Roy GILBERT and wife Dorothy of Stockport and James GILBERT of Bellmont, Ill.; four grandchildren; one great-granddaughter; one stepgreat-granddaughter; and one sister, Kathryn SCHAFER of rural Birmingham.

In addition to her husband, she was preceded in death by her parents; two brothers, Charles and Burr RAMSEY; and one sister, Beulah MORROW.
