COX, Ralph -- Ralph COX, aged 82, TEAM missionary to Japan since 1954 died May 27th in Takamatsu, Japan of cancer. Funeral services were held there on June 1st. His body, donated to Kagawa University Medical Center, will be cremated and buried at a later date half the ashes in Japan and half in the United States. One of the last things he said was, "Glorify God, not me."
Ralph was born and raised in Lander, Wyoming and graduated with a Masters in Bible from Bob Jones University, Greenville, N. Carolina. He is survived by his wife Stella, three children Craig, Galen, and Sherri; seven grandchildren; brothers and sisters in Landers, and many friends all over the world.
During his last furlough to the U.S. in Aug. 2006, Ralph and Stella spoke at the 150th Anniversary of the Salina Presbyterian Church in Salina, Iowa. A memorial service will be held there during 11 a.m. worship June 8th. Friends are invited to celebrate his life and over 50 years of service spreading the gospel of Jesus Christ to the people of Japan.
