DAVIS, Arthur L. -- Arthur L. DAVIS, 66, of rural Douds, died at 6:10 a.m. today, Monday, May 19, 2008, in the Van Buren County Hospital emergency room in Keosauqua.

Arrangements are pending at Pedrick Funeral Home in Douds.

DAVIS, Arthur L. -- Arthur L. DAVIS, 66, of Douds, died Monday morning, May 19, 2008.

A service will be at 10:30 a.m. Friday at Eldon Assembly of God Church, with the Rev. John Cooper officiating. Burial will be in Lebanon Cemetery.

Visitation will begin at 1 p.m. Thursday at Pedrick Funeral Home in Douds, with the family present from 2-4 p.m. and 6-7:30 p.m.

Memorials may be left at the funeral home or mailed to the family at 15226 Iowa Oak Grove Ave., Douds 52551.

Mr. DAVIS was born Nov. 24, 1941, in rural Keosauqua, the son of Carl and Goldie DAVIS. He married Sherian Fay PHILLIPS Sept. 16, 1961.

Mr. DAVIS graduated from Keosauqua High School in 1959. He served in the United States Air Force and Army National Guard. He retired form (sic) John Deere Ottumwa Works.

Mr. DAVIS enjoyed hunting, fishing, farming and watching birds. His family and faith were most important to him.

Survivors include his wife; four children, Kelley DAVIS of Humeston, Andy DAVIS of Douds, Phillip DAVIS of Douds and Katie DUNCAN of Milton; three grandchildren; two sisters, Betty LEAFGREEN of Fairfield and Donna BROWN of Keosauqua; and one brother, Richard DAVIS of Hillsboro.

He was preceded in death by his parents; one son, Alex DAVIS; two brothers, Albert DAVIS and Russell DAVIS; and one sister, Charldeane JAKUBOWSKI.
