CLARK, Chuck -- Chuck CLARK, 59, of Batavia, died Saturday, April 19, 2008, at Jefferson County Hospital in Fairfield.
A memorial service will be at 1:30 p.m. Tuesday at Kremer Funeral Chapel in Batavia, with John Morrissey officiating. Inurnment will be in Des Moines River Primitive Baptist Cemetery near Eldon, with military rites conducted by O.B. Nelson American Legion Post No. 3 and Walter B. Schafer Veterans of Foreign Wars Post No. 775 of Ottumwa. His body has been cremated.
Visitation will be from 9 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. Tuesday at the funeral chapel.
Memorials may be directed to the family.
Mr. CLARK was born April 30, 1948, in Ottumwa, the son of Elmer and Effie BROWN CLARK. He married Mary STEELE June 30, 2003, in Fairfield.
Mr. CLARK was raised and educated in Ottumwa, attending Ottumwa High School. He lived in Des Moines and Denver, Colo., before moving to Batavia where he owned and operated Chuck's Auto Body Shop.
He served in the United States Army and was a veteran of the Vietnam War.
Survivors include his wife; two sons, Jason CLARK and wife Angela of Fairfield and Phillip FIEDLER of Batavia; one daughter, Angela SUTHERLAND of Dayton, Ohio; five grandchildren; three brothers, Elmer "Bud" CLARK of Des Moines, Bryan CLARK of Ottumwa and Larry "Hunk" CLARK of West Grove; and five sisters, Patricia PARKER of Independence, Mo., Barbara GEORGE of Hendersonville, N.C., JoAnne CLARK ESSARY of Abingdon, Connie CLARK of Ottumwa and Wilma CLARK of Mystic.
He was preceded in death by his parents and four brothers, Bill, Carrol, Carl and one in infancy.
