ALBIA — Lucille DeWitt, age 95, of Ottumwa, Iowa, formerly of Albia, died Saturday, March 22, 2008, at Ottumwa Regional Health Center, Ottumwa.

She was born July 3, 1912, in Jefferson County, Iowa, Lockridge Township, to Adam and Minerva (Jordan) Crile.

Lucille graduated from German Lutheran Church confirmation classes in Germanville. She attended Pilgrim Church in Eddyville and Church of God Holyness in Albia. She enjoyed cooking, baking and gardening, along with spending time with her family.

Survivors include two of her sons, Kenneth (Yvonne) DeWitt of Blakesburg and Carroll (InYong) DeWitt of Olympia, Wash.; two half-sisters, Virginia Systma of Oskaloosa and Maxine Martin of Delta, Iowa; nine grandchildren; 26 great-grandchildren; and five great-great-grandchildren.Lucille is preceded in death by her parents; husband, Lewis; one son, Floyd, in infancy; one grandson, Jeffery DeWitt; and one brother, Bernard Crile.

Funeral services will be 10 a.m. Wednesday, March 26, 2008, at Gilbert Funeral Home, Albia Chapel, with Rev. Larry DeOrnellis and Rev. Lois Williams officiating. Burial will follow in White Oak Cemetery in Rose Hill, Iowa.

Visitation will be Tuesday, March 25, 2008, beginning after 1 p.m. with the family present from 6-8 p.m. at the Gilbert Funeral Home, Albia Chapel.Memorials may be directed to the family and will later be directed towards a missionary fund.
