LOCHHEAD, Glen Hugh -- The Rev. Glen Hugh LOCHHEAD, 81, or Kirksville, Mo., died Sunday, March 9, 2008, at Boone Hospital Center in Columbia, Mo.

A funeral will be at 1 p.m. Friday at First United Methodist Church in Kirksville, Mo., with the Rev. Jim Robinson officiating. Burial with military rites will be in Unionville Cemetery in Unionville, Mo.

Visitation will be from 6-8 p.m. Thursday at Davis-Playle-Hudson-Rimer Funeral Home in Kirksville, Mo.

Memorials may be made to Unionville Cemetery or American Diabetes Association. Memorials may be left at or sent to the funeral home.

The Rev. LOCHHEAD was born Jan. 27, 1927, in Lee County, the son of Hugh Alexander and Lucile Grace KENNEDY LOCHHEAD. He married Mary Frances EASTERDAY Aug. 12, 1953, in Mount Pleasant. She died in 1983. He married Twila M. SCHLEETER MILLER May 25, 1986 at Brashear United Methodist Church.

The Rev. LOCHHEAD graduated from Argyle High School in 1945. He served in the United States Army from 1945-1947. He graduated from Iowa Wesleyan College in Mount Pleasant in 1950. His first full-time charge as a preacher was in Birmingham, where he also served Kilbourne and Pittsburg Methodist churches in Van Buren County, from 1951-1956.

The Rev. LOCHHEAD graduated from seminary at Garrett Biblical Institute in Evanston, Ill., and was ordained in April 1956. His family moved to Mystic, and he worked in the Appanoose County parish for five years. He went on to serve several churches across Missouri and obtain a master's degree from Missouri School of Religion in Columbia, Mo.

He participated in boards and committees in the Missouri and Iowa Methodist conferences. He was a member of United Methodist Rural Fellowship, American Legion and Rotary and Lions clubs.

Survivors include his wife; two sons, Mark and wife Beverly of Knoxville, Tenn., and David and wife Joyce of St. Joseph, Mo.; three daughters, Joyce McCORMACK and husband Larry of Unionville, Mo., Judi TIPTON and husband Eddy of Lucerne, Mo., and Jan ALTISER and husband Marty of Newtown, Mo.; nine stepchildren, Ronald MILLER and wife Robin of Arbela, Mo., Joseph MILLER and wife Kathy of Arbela, Mo., Warren MILLER and wife Patricia of Arbela, Mo., John MILLER and wife Laura of Indianola, Walter MILLER and wife Valerie of Lafayette, Ill., Merrie MILLER and husband Dwayne HELTON of House Springs, Mo., Celeste MILLER-PARISH of Arbela, Mo., Melody HILSENBECK and husband Shane of Joplin, Mo., and Karen ESTEP and husband James of Lincoln, Ill.; seven grandchildren; one great-grandchild; 22 stepgrandchildren; and two stepgreat-grandchildren.
