Hugh L. HICKENBOTTOM, of Fairfield, died this morning, Friday, Feb. 22, 2008, at the Jefferson County Hospital Living Care Center in Fairfield.

Arrangements are pending at Raymond Funeral Home in Fairfield.

Hugh Lyle HICKENBOTTOM

Hugh Lyle HICKENBOTTOM, 82, of Fairfield, died Friday, Feb. 22, 2008, at Jefferson County Hospital Living Center in Fairfield.

A service will be at 1 p.m. Wednesday at Raymond Funeral Home in Fairfield, with the Rev. Danny Cary officiating. Interment will be at Evergreen Cemetery.

Visitation will be from 5-7 p.m. Tuesday at the funeral home.

Memorials may be made to Hospice of Central Iowa.

Mr. HICKENBOTTOM was born Nov. 26, 1925, in Parsonsville, the son of Chester and Florence HOLLANDER HICKENBOTTOM. He married Betty Marie HARRISON July 11, 1948, in Lancaster, Mo.

Mr. HICKENBOTTOM attended Crosslane School and was a graduate of Fairfield High School. He farmed and was involved in conservation construction. In 1979, he became president of Hickenbottom Inc.

He was a member of First Christian Church, Fairfield Elks Lodge and Walton Club.

Survivors include his wife; two sons, Steve and wife Roxanne and Mark and wife Kerry, all of Fairfield; seven grandchildren; one great-grandchild; and one sister, Frances F. MARTIN of Fairfield.

He was preceded in death by his parents; one daughter, Linda Marie KENNEY; and five brothers, Vern, Virgil, Marshall, Leslie and John.
