Norman Ray Wright, 73, of Independence, Mo., formerly of Fairfield and . Ottumwa, died Sunday, Jan. 1,2006, at his residence after an extended illness.
A service. was held Tuesday at St. Michael's Episcopal Church in Independence, Mo. Military services were held at the grave site.
Mr. Wright was born Oct. 9, 1932, in Ottumwa, the son of Claude Ray Wright and May Elaine Truitt Wright.
Mr. Wright attended schools in Ottumwa. He enlisted in the United States Air Force ·in 1950. He had opetated Pizza Hut, George's Pizza and The Little Shop in Fairfield. During his latter years he was superintendent on construction and a cabinet maker by trade.
Survivors incIude his wife, Barbara Wright of Independence; three children, Gregory Wright of Fort Collins, Colo., Cindy DeWitt of Mesa, Ariz, and Lori Teal of LeHigh Acres, Fla.; one brother, Robert E. Wright of Fairfield; several stepchildren and grandchildren.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by two brothers.
