Clyde W. Parrott

Clyde W. Parrott, 90, formerly of Douds, died at 10:15 p.m. Thursday, Sept. 14, 2006, at Delmar Gardens on the Green care center in Town and Country, Mo.

A funeral will be at 10:30 a.m. Monday at Pedrick Funeral Home in Douds, with the Rev. Keith
Trumbo officiating. Burial will be in Zion Lutheran Cemetery in Douds.

Open visitation will begin at 2 p.m. Sunday at the funeral home where the family will be present
from 3-5 p.m.

Memorials to Fairfield Seventh Day Adventist Church may be left at the funeral home or mailed to the family at 45 Queensbrook Place, Olivette, MC) 63132.

Mr. Parrott was born June 14, 1916, near Douds, the son of Elmer E. and Lura Wiley Parrott. He married Dorothy Wickham Aug. 25, 1939, in Cedar Falls. She died Oct. 26, 1999.

Mr. Parrott graduated from Oak Grove rural school near Douds and from Pisgah Industrial Institute in
Fletcher, N.C. He lived in the Oak Grove community east of Douds until moving to Douds in 2001 and
to the St. Louis area to be closer to his daughter in 2005. He worked at New Globe Coal Company and
Douds Stone Inc. and did appliance repair work at Appliance City in Ottumwa and Pickens Appliance in
Fairfield. He was a self-employed service man.

Mr. Parrott was a member of Fairfield Seventh Day Adventist Church. He served on various committees and taught Sunday school at Oak Grove Church.

He enjoyed gardening, helping his wife with her quilting, picking hickory nuts and walnuts and writing and reading poems at neighbor hood functions.

Survivors include one daughter, Ruby Anderson and husband Marlin of Olivette, Mo.; two grand sons; two great-grandsons; one sister, Edna Dorothy of Chariton; and one brother, Arthur Parrott of
Whitmore, Mich.

In addition to his wife, he was preceded in death by one sister, Esther Parrott in childhood, and
two brothers, Warren Parrot in infancy and Harold Parrott
