OOSTHOEK, Lena M. -- Lena M. OOSTHOEK, 91, of Keosauqua, died Monday, Feb. 11, 2008, at Van Buren Good Samaritan Center in Keosauqua.

OOSTHOEK, Lena M. -- Lena M. OOSTHOEK, 91, of Keosauqua, died Monday, Feb. 11, 2008, at Van Buren Good Samaritan Center in Keosauqua.

A service will be at 2 p.m. Friday at Raymond Funeral Home in Birmingham, with the Rev. Phil Campbell officiating. Interment will be at Zion Lutheran Cemetery near Douds.

Family visitation will be from 1-2 p.m. Friday at the funeral home.

Memorials may be made to the Van Buren Good Samaritan Activity Fund.

Mrs. OOSTHOEK was born Dec. 29, 1916, near Armour, S.D., the daughter of John and Myrtle GOEMATT VAN DER WERFF.

Mrs. OOSTHOEK was raised by her aunt and uncle Tunie and Matt A. LEYDENS. She moved to Iowa at 8 months old and lived in Van Buren County until moving to Fairfield in 1983. She was a resident of the good samaritan center for the past 10 years.

Mrs. OOSTHOEK was a member of Free Methodist Church in Birmingham.

Survivors include one stepson, Dean OOSTHOEK and wife Nellie of Fairfield; three daughters, Donna COWEN and husband Roy of Birmingham, Marlena WIBBEN and husband Rick of Sioux Falls, S.D., and Marie HARWOOD and husband Carroll of Fairfield; and several grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

The family has added the following information to the obituary that appeared in Wednesday's Ledger.

Mrs. OOSTHOEK married Martin OOSTHOEK March 18, 1937, in Fairfield. He died July 26, 1993.

Survivors include 11 grandchildren, 24 great-grandchildren and three great-great-grandchildren.

In addition to her husband, Mrs. OOSTHOEK was preceded in death by her parents, one granddaughter, one great-granddaughter, five brothers and two sisters.
