WILLIS, Dale R. -- Dale R. WILLIS, 76, of rural Mount Pleasant and Lockridge, died Saturday, Jan. 26, 2008, at home.
A funeral will be at 10 a.m. Wednesday at Faith Christian Outreach Church in Mount Pleasant, with the Rev. Monte Knudson and the Rev. Mike Furlong officiating. Burial will be in Grant Cemetery in Rome, Iowa, with full military honors.
Open visitation will begin at 2 p.m. Tuesday at Murphy Funeral Home in Mount Pleasant, where the family will be present from 6-8 p.m.

Mr. WILLIS was born Feb. 26, 1931, in Henry County, the son of Thomas McKinley and Lena WATSON WILLIS. He married Patricia MILLSPAUGH Dec. 27, 1951, in Mount Pleasant. She died in 2007.
Mr. WILLIS served in the United States Air Force for 23 years, retiring as a chief master sergeant. He worked for Waters Implement and later at The Company until his retirement.
He was a member of the Mount Pleasant Moose, where he served as the administrator and governor for a number of years. He also was a member of Faith Christian Outreach Church and Veterans of Foreign Wars, all of Mount Pleasant.
He enjoyed working on engines and spending time with family.
Survivors include four children, Cheryl L. BRADY of Fairbanks, Alaska, Terrie L. HOWELL of Mount Pleasant, Roberta D. FURLONG of California and William T. WILLIS of Mount Pleasant; 13 grandchildren; 12 great-grandchildren; and one sister, Helen MOEHLE of Stockport.
In addition to his wife, he was preceded in death by his parents and one sister in infancy, Hazel Irene.
