Richard HYDE, 75, of Brighton; died today, Wednesday, Jan, 9,2008, at home. Arrangments are pending at Gould Funeral Home in Brighton.

HYDE, Richard -- Richard HYDE, 75, of Brighton, died early Wednesday, Jan. 9, 2008, at home.

A funeral will be at 11 a.m. Monday at First Church of God in Brighton, with the Rev. Rick Hughes officiating. Burial will be in Cottonwood Cemetery near Coppock.

Visitation with the family will be from 2-4 p.m. Sunday at Gould Funeral Home in Brighton.

Memorials have been established to Hospice of Washington County and Brighton Volunteer First Responders.

Mr. HYDE was born Sept. 5, 1932, on the family farm, the son of John and Esther HULL HYDE Jr. He married Patricia SMITH Feb. 18, 1953, in Kahoka, MO.

Mr. HYDE lived all his life in the Brighton area. He graduated from Brighton High School in 1951.

He was a member of Knights of Pythias in Brighton. He also was an outdoorsman, enjoying camping, hunting and fishing all his life.

Survivors include his wife; three sons, David HYDE and wife Vicky of Birmingham, Phillip HYDE and wife Beth of Washington, Iowa, and Billy HYDE and wife Ruth of Brighton; one daughter, Cyndi CHRISTENSEN and husband Dan of Brighton; 11 grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.

His parents preceded him in death.
