Mon., March 6, 2006.Thelma Sirdoreus, 84, of Fairfield died March 4, 2006, at Parkview Care Center in Fairfield.
A service is set for 10 a.m. Wednesday at First Baptist Church in Fairfield, with the Rev. Jim Wotherspoon officiating. Burial will be in Fell Cemetery in Libertyville.
Family visitation will be from 6-8 p.m. Tuesday at Behner Funeral Home in Fairfield. Memorials may be made to Fell Cemetery or First Baptist Church. Online condolences may be sent via www.behnerfh.com.
Mrs. Sirdoreus was born July 23, 1921, in Ottumwa, the daughter of Harry and Edith Speer Grissom. She married Clarence D. Sirdoreus Dec. 29, 1941, in Memphis, Mo. He died Nov. 4, 2004.
Mrs. Sirdoreus grew up in Fairfield and graduated from Fairfield High School in 1940. She was a housewife.
Mrs. Sirdoreus was a member of First Baptist Church in Fairfield. She also was a member of Bradshaw Helping Hand Club.
She enjoyed preparing food to can or freeze, sewing, making crafts, baking, crocheting, quilting, gardening, attending the Iowa State Fair, and camping.
Survivors include one daughter, Mary Tedrow and husband Tim of Fairfield; two sons, Jerry Sirdoreus and wife Ann and Don Sirdoreus and wife Joan, all of Fairfield; six grandchildren; four stepgrandchildren; and five great-grandchildren.
In addition to her husband, she was preceded in death by her parents.
