Andrew Lee Smithburg, 25, formerly of Fairfield, the son of Daniel and Kelly Smithburg of Fairfield, died Friday, Dec. 1, 2006, in Burkburnett, Texas.

Arrangements are pending at Behner Funeral home and Crematory in Fairfield.

Andrew Lee Smithburg, age 25 of Burkburnett, TX, formerly of Fairfield, passed away Friday, December 1, 2006 in Burkburnett.

Visitation with the family present will be held from 2:00 PM to 4:00 PM, Sunday, December 10, 2006 at Behner Funeral Home in Fairfield, IA. Friends may sign a Book of Condolence beginning at noon on Sunday, or send online condolences at www.behnerfh.com.

Funeral services will be held 11:00 AM, Monday, December 11 at the First Lutheran Church in Fairfield, with Pastor Marvin Robeck officiating.

Burial with full military rites will be conducted in McCormick Cemetery, at 2:30 PM, in Highland Center, Iowa.

The Smithburg family requests memorials in lieu of flowers to be made to the Smithburg Children’s Memorial.

Andrew Lee Smithburg was born June 24, 1981 in Madison, WI, the son of Daniel and Kelly (Fitzsimmons) Smithburg. He grew up in the Fairfield community, graduating from Fairfield High School with the Class of 1999.

He was united in marriage with Julie Overturf on June 27, 2005 in Wichita Falls, TX. They are the parents of two children; Kiana Leann and Cody Blake.

Andrew served in Iraq with the US AirForce, and worked security at Sheppard AFB in Wichita Falls, Texas.

Andrew is survived by his wife, Julie, and their children: Kiana and Cody, his parents Daniel and Kelly Smithburg of Fairfield, two brothers and one sister, all of Fairfield: Gregory, Alicia, and Kevin Smithburg. Survivors include grandparents: Emery and Phyllis Dean of Ottumwa, Kenneth and Linda Fitzsimmons of Agency, and Dennis and Carolyn Smithburg of Batavia and great-grandparents Everett Smithburg of Fairfield, and Marjorie Bailey of Libertyville.
