COURTNEY, Alfred Lee -- Alfred Lee COURTNEY, 83, of Fairfield, died Thursday, Nov. 8, 2007, at Jefferson County Hospital in Fairfield.

No funeral services are planned. The body will be cremated.

A memorial will not be established. Cards may be sent to 1254 256th St., Libertyville 52567.

Mr. COURTNEY was born Nov. 13, 1923, in Brighton, the son of Calvin Foster "Hap" and Esther HOWEL COURTNEY. He married Florine Roslin MOYER, who died in 1973. He later married Darlene HOUSE. She preceded him in death in 2003.

Mr. COURTNEY was a United States Navy veteran of the SeaBees of World War II.

He was employed as a machinist at Dexter Company for 40 years until retiring in 1987.

He enjoyed camping, fishing, constructing remote control model airplanes and tinkering around the house.

Survivors include eight children, Jon COURTNEY and wife Linda of Libertyville, Margaret CURTIS of Fairfield, Donnie HOUSE of Burlington, Doug HOUSE of Fairfield, Sharon RYDER of Fairfield, Terry HOUSE of Richland, Leo HOUSE of Salina and Diane HENRY of Houghton and several grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

In addition to his wives, he was preceded in death by his parents; one son, Allen Palmer; and two sisters, Jean TUCKER and Doris HUNT.
