HAMM, Jay -- Jay HAMM, 93, of Mount Pleasant, died Monday, Sept. 17, 2007, at Arbor Court in Mount Pleasant.
A service will be held at 10:30 a.m. Thursday at Beatty-Murphy Funeral Home in Mount Pleasant, with the Rev. Harold Dorsey officiating.
Open visitation began at 2 p.m. today at the funeral home, where the family will be present from 6-8 p.m. Burial will be in Salem South Cemetery.
A memorial to Salem South Cemetery has been established.

Mr. HAMM was born March 15, 1914, in Waterloo, the son of Royal C. and Bessie ADAMS HAMM. He married Velma STUTZMAN May 22, 1937, in Memphis, Mo.
Mr. HAMM was raised and educated in Van Buren and Jefferson counties. He farmed in Henry County in the Salem vicinity for a number of years. After leaving the farm, he was a custodian for the Mount Pleasant school system until retiring in 1979.
He enjoyed gardening and wood-working.
Survivors include his wife; three sons, Art HAMM and wife Beverly of Winfield, Don HAMM and wife Cheryl of Sioux City and Bob HAMM and wife Judy of Meta, Mo.; 12 grandchildren; 15 great-grandchildren; and five great-great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents, two grandchildren, two brothers and four sisters.
