WITT, Mildred -- Mildred WITT, 90, of Oskaloosa, formerly of Douds, died at 8:40 p.m. Sunday, Aug. 12, 2007, at New Sharon Nursing and Rehab Center in New Sharon.

Arrangements are pending at Pedrick Funeral Home in Douds.

WITT, Mildred M. -- Mildred M. WITT, 90, of Oskaloosa, formerly of Douds, died at 8:40 p.m. Sunday, Aug. 12, 2007, at New Sharon Nursing and Rehabilitation Center in New Sharon.

A funeral will be at 10:30 a.m. Wednesday at Pedrick Funeral Home in Douds, with the Rev. Jerry Caughron officiating. Burial will be in Fellows Cemetery in Keosauqua.

Open visitation began at 2 p.m. today at the funeral home, where the family will be present from 7-8 p.m.

Memorials to United Methodist Church of Lebanon or Fellows Cemetery may be left at the funeral home or mailed to the family at 13816 Highway 16, Douds 52551 or 1030 S. 18th St., Apt. B, Oskaloosa, 52577.

Mrs. WITT was born Sept. 17, 1916, in Council Bluffs, the daughter of James and Ethel FULLER WOOTON. She married Charlie WITT Feb. 28, 1935, in Keosauqua. He died Oct. 27, 1983.

Mrs. WITT lived most of her adult life on the family farm between Lebanon and Douds. She moved to Oksaloosa in 1988 and into the care center in January 2007. She was a farm homemaker. Later in her life, she became a certified nurse aide and did home health care.

Mrs. WITT had been a member of United Methodist Church of Lebanon since 1935. She was active in United Methodist Women and Valley Club.

Survivors include one son, Robert S. WITT and wife Norma Jane of Douds; one daughter, Mary HARWOOD of Oskaloosa; three grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren.

In addition to her husband, she was preceded in death by her parents; one infant granddaughter; two brothers, Harold and Melvin WOOTON; and one sister, Wilma BARKER.
