SILVERS, Merle Guy -- Merle Guy SILVERS, 75, of Fairfield, died Monday, Aug. 6, 2007, at home.
A memorial service will be at 10 a.m. Thursday at Behner Funeral Home in Fairfield, with the Rev. Dave Elmore officiating. The body has been cremated. Burial of cremains will be held at a later date.
No family visitation is planned.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be sent to the SILVERS family at 404 S. Fourth St., Fairfield 52556.

Mr. SILVERS was born June 23, 1932, in rural Oskaloosa, the son of Guy Merle and Ruby McNEESE SILVERS. He married Wanda Joan SWIM Nov. 3, 1951, in Eddyville.
Mr. SILVERS was a long-time resident of the Fairfield and Birmingham areas. He was a self-employed carpenter for 30 years.
He enjoyed boat fishing and spending time with family and friends.
Survivors include his wife; two daughters, Connie RICHARDSON and husband Richard and Mary POHREN and huband John, all of Lockridge; three brothers, Richard SILVERS of Oskaloosa, Jerry SILVERS of Atlanta, Ga., and David SILVERS of Ollie; and one sister, Dixie ENGLE of Fairfield.
He was preceded in death by his parents; one brother, James; and one sister, Charlene.
