FOX, Lavondia L. -- Lavondia L. FOX, 78, of Brighton, died at 3:55 a.m. Monday, Aug. 13, 2007, at Washington County Hospital in Washington, Iowa.
A funeral will be at 10 a.m. Thursday at Brighton United Church, with the Rev. Kitch Shatzer officiating. Burial will be in Sandy Hook Cemetery.
Visitation will begin at 4 p.m. Wednesday, with the family present from 6:30-8 p.m., at Gould Funeral Home in Brighton.
A general memorial has been established.
Mrs. FOX was born July 17, 1929, in Coppock, the daughter of Gilbert and Evalena HARRISON SIMPSON, She married Vernon FOX June 17, 1951, in Washington. He died Dec. 24, 1986.
Mrs. FOX grew up and attended school in Coppock. She was a housewife. She and her husband moved to Brighton in 1961. Mrs. FOX had been a resident of Washington Care Center for the past two years.
She was a longtine member of Brighton United Church.
Survivors include five sons, Robert FOX, Ronald FOX and wife Linda and Randy FOX and wife Tracy, all of Brighton, Roy FOX and wife Rebecca of Traer and Raymond FOX of Ainsworth; seven grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; and friend and caretaker, Warren ETTER.
In addition to her husband, she was preceded in death by her parents, one granddaughter and one half brother, Glen TAYLOR.
