Arthur W. "Deed" Hisel, 90, lifetime resident of Jefferson County, died at 5:45 a.m. today at his farm home southeast of Fairfield. Funeral services will be held Thursday at 2 p.m. at the First Methodist church in charge of the Rev. J. Roland Crandall. Burial will be in Evergreen cemetery. The body is at the Weston Behner Funeral Home.
Hisel was born southeast of Fairfield Sept. 21, 1873, the son of Joseph and Martha Howard Hisel. He moved to his present farm when less than a year old and spent the remainder of his life there. He was married to Della Vaught May 14, 1902. She died Dec. 8, 1919. On Oct. 26, 1948, he was married to Victorine Doan, who survives. Also surviving are one son, Glen Hisel, Fairfield Route 3; and one daughter, Mrs. Velma Schee, Mt. Pleasant Route 4. Other survivors are four grandchildren, one great-grandchild, and one sister, Mrs. L. W. Sinn, Denver, Colo. One son and one brother preceded him in death. Member First Methodist Church.
