SNOOK, Juanita A. 'Nita' -- Juanita A. SNOOK died peacefully with her family at her bedside in California.

She had been suffering from emphysema and osteoporosis for many years.

"Nita" was born in 1928 to Howard (Cupie) & Almeda WELSH, Fairfield.

She graduated from FHS and attended Parsons College. She married Ernest "Ernie" SNOOK in 1948, he passed away June 1995. Nita moved with her Daughter Karen & family to California in 1996 and enjoyed her life there.

She is survived by daughter Karen (David) SKINNER of California, Grandchildren & Great grandchildren Jim (Johanna) HOPKINS and sons Ian and Christian; Greg, and Kirsten (Mike) GERRY along with their daughters Reagan and Kendall. Also daughter Beth (Mike) MUFFLEY and grandchildren Sarah & Jason of Illinois, along with a host of nieces and nephews.

She will be buried beside her husband in Houston and a celebration of her life will be held in California the following week. She loved Hawkeye football, any football really.. and these last few years excelled at Bingo.. she was one colorful, unique woman who will be dearly missed. In lieu of flowers donations would be welcome to the "Adopt a Marine Program" c/o John Humphrey -- Laguna Niguel Presbyterian Church, 30071 Ivy Glenn Dr. Laguna Niguel, Ca. 92677.
