CALLED TO HIS LONG HOME.
George Sherman Crane, a native of Middlesex County, Conn., and a resident of Jefferson County since 1858, died at his home in Round Prairie township on the 2d inst., in the 87 year of his age. When a boy 12 years of age he removed with his parents from the state of his birth to Ohio, where both father and mother died. Returning to Connecticut, he was married to Miss Lucy A. Jones, who survives hime, in 1833, and in 1839 they removed to Ohio, and in 1856 to Mt. Pleasant, this state. Two years later they purchased the farm in this county which has been their home and on which Mr. Crane passes his last days. Nine children came to Mr. and Mrs. Crane, six of whom are now living, Geo. M. Crane of Lucerne, Kan., S.S. Crane of this county; Mrs. Francis Bradshaw of Batavia, Mrs. Elizabeth Stout, Miss Adda Crane of Round Prairie, and Mrs. Susan A. Lowen.
