SCHWANTES, Reesa D. -- Reesa D. SCHWANTES, 40, of rural Douds, died at 9:08 a.m. Wednesday, July 4, 2007, in the emergency room of Van Buren County Hospital in Keosauqua.

Arrangements are pending at Pedrick Funeral Home in Douds.

FRANKLIN-SCHWANTES, Reesa D. -- Reesa D. FRANKLIN-SCHWANTES, 40, of rural Douds, died at 9:08 a.m. Wednesday, July 4, 2007, in the Van Buren County Hospital emergency room in Keosauqua.

A service will be at 10:30 a.m. Monday at Pedrick Funeral Home in Douds, with the Rev. John Cooper officiating. Burial will be in Iowaville Cemetery in rural Selma.

Open visitation will begin at 2 p.m. Sunday at the funeral home, where family will be present from 3:30-5 p.m. and 7-8 p.m.

Memorials to a college fund for her daughter may be left at the funeral home or mailed to the family at 15626 Acorn Ave., Douds 52551.

Mrs. FRANKLIN-SCHWANTES was born Aug. 10, 1966, in Fort Madison, the daughter of Roger and Nancy DEEDS FRANKLIN. She married Maynard SHWANTES. They were divorced.

Mrs. FRANKLIN-SCHWANTES graduated from Cardinal High School in 1984 and attended Indian Hills Community College where she studied computer programming. She was a self-employed owner and operator of a grain semitrailer. She worked at Tri-County Grain in Eldon and was a substitute rural mail carrier out of the Douds Post Office.

She was a member of Soap Creek Saddle Club. She enjoyed taking her daughter to rodeos and riding horses.

Survivors include one daughter, Sylvia of rural Douds; her fiance, Tim ROGERS of rural Douds; her parents of Eldon; two brothers, Robben FRANKLIN and Rex FRANKLIN, both of Eldon; and one sister, Rachel DURFLINGER of Eldon.

She was preceded in death by her grandparents.
