Richard “Dick” Lee HOGAN, 72, of Richland, died at 4:45 p.m. Friday, Dec. 22, 2006, at Jefferson County Hospital in Fairfield.

A memorial service was held this morning at Gould Funeral Home in Richland.

Memorials may be made to American Lung Association or Friends of the Animals Shelter.

Mr. HOGAN was born April 19, 1934, near Batavia, the son of Leonard James and Fern Morine Crawford HOGAN. He married Baja Maxine CARY June 27, 1953, in Fairfield.

Mr. HOGAN grew up in the Batavia area and attended Batavia and Packwood schools, He worked as a farm hand, then at Harken’s Meats until 1963 when he went to work for B –Y Farm Market in Richland. He worked at B –Y Farm Market until he retired for health reasons. He and his family moved to Richland in 1965.

Mr. HOGAN enjoyed spending time with family, cooking, growing vegetables, fishing and old-time country music.

Survivors include his wife; his mother of Fairfield; three children, Connie HOGAN of Waverly, Debra WALKER and husband Dale of Thornburg and Christian HOGAN and wife Renee of West Branch; five grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; and two sisters, Nancy SWAIM of Fairfield and Sheryl WILLIAMS

He was preceded in death by his father.
