Arden “Baldy” Earl HINING, 86, of Fairfield, died Monday, Dec., 11, 2006, at Jefferson County Hospital in Fairfield.

A service will be at 10 a.m. Saturday at Behner Funeral Home in Fairfield, with the Rev. Keevin Koch officiating. Burial will follow in Forest Home Cemetery in Mount Pleasant.

Open visitation will be from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Friday at the funeral home.

Mr. HINING was born Nov. 13, 1920, in Floris, the son of Jasper and Edna Swaim HINING. He married Betty Jane WELCHER June 9, 1946, in Mount Pleasant. She died Nov. 26, 2002.

Mr. HINING lived all his life in Jefferson County, graduating from Fairfield High School in 1939. He was employed at Louden Machinery Company and retired as a mail carrier with the U.S. Postal Service.

Mr. HINING was a World War II veteran, having served in the National Guard.

Survivors include one daughter, Debra HINING of Kenau, Hawaii, and one grandson.

In addition to his wife, he was preceded in death by his parents; two brothers, Glendon HINING infant Jasper H. HINING; one half brother, Kermit SWAIM; and four sisters, Vera HAMMERSLY, Marie BARKLEY, Flossie PALMER and Lelah MCKEE.
