LUDIN, Letha -- Letha LUDIN, 99, of Richland, died at 1:15 p.m. Wednesday, May 30, 2007, at Maplewood Manor in Keota.

The family will hold a private service at a later date.

Memorials of the donor's choice may be mailed to the family at 407 N. Washington St., Richland 52585.

Arrangements are in the care of Gould Funeral Home of Richland.

Mrs. LUDIN was born Oct. 22, 1907, in Rubio, the daughter of Otto W. and Amy J. MORGAN SCHMITTER. She married George LUDIN in 1947 in Bloomfield. He died in 1972.

Mrs. LUDIN grew up in Rubio and graduated from Richland High School in 1926 and from Iowa State University in Ames in 1931. She and her husband owned and operated a general store in Lander, Wyo., for many years. She returned to Iowa in 1973. She had been a resident of Maplewood Manor since January.

Mrs. LUDIN was a member of Richland United Methodist Church.

Survivors include one brother, Doyle SCHMITTER of Bloomfield.

In addition to her husband, she was preceded in death by her parents and two brothers, Lyle and Dean SCHMITTER.
