DAVIES, Griffith William -- Griffith William DAVIES, 56, of Parkview Mo., formerly of Fairfield, died at 4 a.m. Wednesday, May 30, 2007, from complications of a double-lung transplant surgery performed earlier this month.

DAVIES, Griffith William -- Griffith William DAVIES, 55, died Wednesday, May 27, 2007, from complications from a double lung transplant he received May 14.
A memorial service will be at 2 p.m. Saturday at United Temple on the Plaza in Kansas City, Mo. A reception will follow at The Power Plant in Parkville, Mo.
In lieu of flowers, donations to the Griff Davies Medical Fund may be made at any Bank of America or may be mailed to Griff Davies Medical Fund, 104 NW 13th St., Parkville, MO 64152.
Cards may be sent to 426 N. Jefferson, Liberty, MO 64068.
Mr. DAVIES was born Feb. 10, 1952, in Mattoon, Ill., the son of John David DAVIES and Gene Maxine YAKEY DAVIES.
Mr. DAVIES was a 1970 graduate of Fairfield High School. He began college at Parsons College in Fairfield, but took time off for a four-year stint in the U.S. Navy, mostly stationed in the Phillippines. He then resumed college at Park College in Parkville, Mo., where he received his bachelor's degree in history and education. He had been a long time sales representative for Huttig Building Products in Liberty, Mo.
Survivors include two children, Christopher DAVIES and Lyndzi DAVIES, both of Liberty, Mo.; and five sisters, Donna DAVIES of Yucca Valley, Calif., Sara SKEELS of Eden Prairie, Minn., Kitty DAVIES of Des Moines, Jane CAHILL of Hingham, Mass., and Amy LLOYD of Albuquerque, N.M.
He was preceded in death by his parents.
