WRIGHT, Eugene W. -- Eugene W. WRIGHT, 77, of Birmingham, died Saturday, May 12, 2007, at Jefferson County Hospital in Fairfield.

A service will be at 10 a.m. Tuesday at Birmingham United Methodist Church, with the Rev. Michael Renken officiating. Interment will be in Maple Hill Cemetery in Birmingham.

Family visitation will be from 6-8 p.m. today at Raymond Funeral Home in Birmingham.

Mr. WRIGHT was born May 5, 1930, in Keosauqua, the son of Otho C. and Gertrude KELLOGG WRIGHT. He married Betty MIDDLETON Dec. 18, 1953, at First United Methodist Church in Fairfield.

Mr. WRIGHT attended school in Keosauqua. He then served in the U.S. Army from 1950-1953, serving in the Korean conflict. In addition to faming, he worked at the American Chain & Cable Company in Fairfield for more than 26 years.

Mr. WRIGHT was a member of Haney-Brannan American Legion Post No. 181 in Birmingham.

Survivors include his wife; two sons, Steve and wife Doris of Ottumwa and Doug and wife Judy of Ladysmith, Wis.; one daughter, Patty DIETZMAN and husband Dick of Centerville; one sister, Maxine ADAMS of Fairfield; eight grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents, four brothers and four sisters.
