THOMSON, Thomas Jr. -- Thomas THOMSON Jr., 72, of Pleasant Plain, died Friday, Feb. 9, 2007, at University of Iowa Hospitals and Clinics in Iowa City.

A service will be at 11 a.m. Tuesday at Behner Funeral Home in Fairfield, with the Rev. Jim Hughes officiating. Burial will be in Evergreen Cemetery in Fairfield.

Family visitation will be from 10-11 a.m. Tuesday at the funeral home.

Memorials may be made to a charity of the donor's choice. Online condolences may be sent via www.behnerfh.com .

Mr. THOMSON was born May 11, 1934, the son of Thomas and Muriel Celeste ULM THOMSON. He married Carolyn MOORE Dec. 1, 1967, and they later divorced. He then married Rosemary CUMMINS Feb. 14, 1991.

Mr. THOMSON was a farmer and worked at Dexter Company and Pinkerton.

Mr. THOMSON was a member of Brighton First Church of God.

He enjoyed antique tractors and sports.

Survivors include his wife; three children, John THOMSON and wife Paula of Decatur, Ill., Michelle VanNESS and husband Gene of Fairfield and Muriel THOMSON and spouse Dawn of Fairfield; one stepson, Rick DOTY of Decatur, Ill.; one sister, Margaret THOMSON of Libertyville; three grandchildren; and five stepgrandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents; one brother in infancy; and three grandchildren.
