SNYDER, Mary Kay -- Mary Kay SNYDER passed away peacefully on Monday, January 22, 2007, at Iowa Methodist Hospital.
Born to Wayne and Catherine SNYDER in Chicago on November 22, 1932. Mary Kay was the oldest of four children. She graduated from Mundelein College and Loyola University earning her Ph. D. in Psychology. A career as a school psychologist brought Mary Kay to Fairfield where she raised her three children. She retired from the A.E.A. in 1997 and happily dedicated her life to her many passions. These included spending time and playing with her grandchildren, traveling and visiting her family, attending church, cheering the Iowa Hawkeye basketball team, and being a life-long, die-hard Cubs fan.
Mary Kay is preceded in death by her brother Jack, and survived by her sister Sue WILLIAMS of Elko, MN and brother Terry SNYDER of Tampa. FL, her children Julianne (Dean) CLARK of Johnston, IA, Michael (Wendy) SNYDER of Rochester, MN, and Tom (Mary) SNYDER of Rosemount, MN, and three grandchildren Alexander, Devin, and Meadow.
A memorial service will be held on Thursday morning at 11:00 a.m. at St. Mary's of Nazareth in Des Moines. Family members will greet friends of Mary Kay an hour before. Memorial contributions may be sent to the March of Dimes.
