SCHILLERSTROM, Louise Irene -- Louise Irene SCHILLERSTROM, 90, of Fairfield, died today, Wednesday, May 9, 2007, at Jefferson County Hospital in Fairfield.

A funeral will be at 10:30 a.m. Monday at First Lutheran Church in Fairfield. Burial will be in Evergreen Cemetery.

No visitation is planned. A Book of Condolence may be signed between 9 a.m. and 4 p.m. Friday or 9 a.m. to noon Saturday at Behner Funeral Home.

Memorials may be made to First Lutheran Church or Salina Cemetery Association. Cards and memorials may be sent to 1715 Quince Ave., Fairfield 52556.

Mrs. SCHILLERSTROM was born July 13, 1916, near Brighton, the daughter of John and Katie MILLER BURGER. She married Joseph SCHILLERSTROM Aug. 24, 1937. He died in 1980.

Mrs. SCHILLERSTROM was employed by Parkview Care Center in the dietary department for 18 years until her retirement. She was one of the first residents at CALU Apartments when it opened in 1984; she lived there 23 years.

Mrs. SCHILLERSTROM was a member of First Lutheran Church, Jefferson County Hospital Auxiliary and Merry Makers Club.

She liked cooking and baking, gardening and flowers, playing cards, family reunions and family trees.

Survivors include two children, Joyce TANGIE and husband Albert of Albia and Jerry SCHILLERSTROM and wife Rose of rural Fairfield; four grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; two stepgreat-grandsons; and two sisters, Vera LUEDTKE of Fairfield and Ruth WIGGINS of Princeton, Ill.

In addition to her husband, she was preceded in death by her parents and one sister, Edith GILBERT.
