RANDALL, John A. Jr. -- John A. RANDALL Jr., 70, of Pleasant Plain, died at 4 a.m. today, Friday, Jan. 5, 2007, at Jefferson County Hospital in Fairfield.

A funeral is scheduled for 1:30 p.m. Monday at Pleasant Plain Friends Church in Pleasant Plain, with the Rev. Stan Bauer officiating. Burial will be in Pleasant Plain Friends Cemetery.

Open visitation will begin at 4 p.m. Sunday at Gould Funeral Home in Brighton, with the family present from 7-8 p.m.

Memorials have been established to Brighton Volunteer First Responders or Pleasant Plain Friends Church.

Mr. RANDALL was born Oct. 8, 1936, in Keokuk, the son of John and Olive Joy SIMPSON RANDALL Sr. He married Phyllis C. WILLIAMS June 27, 1964, in Memphis, Mo.

Mr. RANDALL grew up in the Memphis, Mo., area and attended Memphis schools before moving to Iowa. He lived in the Packwood, Richland and Pleasant Plain areas, working for Rockwell Standard and Dexter Company in Fairfield, B-Y Farm Market in Richland and as a self-employed truck driver.

Survivors include his wife; one daughter, Theresa KNERR and husband Jackie of Brighton; one step-son, Steve SIMPSON of Brighton; eight grandchildren; one sister, Patricia RANDALL of Colorado; and one stepsister, Pat McCARTY of Brighton.

He was preceded in death by his father, one infant son and one infant great-granddaughter.
