Ernest C. FINK, 87, of Packwood died at 8:07 a.m. Tuesday, Feb. 21, 2006, at Jefferson County Hospital in Fairfield.

The funeral is set for 1 p.m. Friday at Packwood Christian Church, with the Rev. Harlan Van Voorst officiating. Burial will be with military rites in Keota Cemetery.

Family visitation will be from 5-7 p.m. Thursday at Raymond Funeral Home in Fairfield. Memorials may be made to a charity of the donor’s choice.

Mr. FINK was born Nov. 3, 1918, in Washington, the son of Emil and Gertrude Reighard FINK. He married Edith PEIFFER July 28, 1945, in East Pleasant Plain.

Mr. FINK lived near Washington, Keota and Brighton and moved with his wife to the Packwood community in 1948.

Mr. FINK served four years with the U.S. Army Air Corps in the European theater during World War II.

Mr. FINK was a member of Packwood Christian Church where he had served as a deacon and elder. He also was a member of the American Legion in Richland.

Survivors include his wife; two daughters, June VAN KLAVEREN and husband Larry of Saint Louis, Mo., and Ann WEIGEL and husband Doug of Packwood; four grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents and one brother, Harold “Beeler” FINK.
